So here we have all the hooligans from the FREE RIDE FRIDAY group, led by Kayn Woolmer from MTN's Club 100 in this particular instance, perfecting new and interesting ways to commit suicide by Mountain Biking with a little help from CATERPILLAR SA .

It is interesting to note that Jumpy James is volunteering his services as a SPADE HOLDER whilst recovering from hideous surgery to his elbow after a serious overdose of optimism when considering his ability to fly (on his bike). Idiot!

TRAIL SKILL RATINGS

All Cult Cycling designed Bike Parks (including the Toyota MTN Cycle Park) use the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) trail color coding system used in Bike Parks all over the world (except the UK where they insist on adding in other funny colors borrowed from Ski Parks, but what do you expect from a bunch of hooligans that still insist on measuring in pounds and stone).

Green(Circle):
Fast and flowing Single Track or Jeep Track suitable for new riders in the Bike Park environment, or for experienced riders going "flat box", but remember the rider in front "owns the trail" and no harassment of new riders or children will ever be viewed as cool or funny.

Blue(Square):
Intermediate riders who have MASTERED all Green Routes. This does not mean you have managed to complete all Green Routes once and only had to carry your bike a few times. If you touched the ground or your brakes in a Green then keep practicing before trying a Blue Route.

Black(Diamond):
Expert Riders Only. These are not hiking trails. If you cant ride it, you won't be able to walk it either. Special Equipment like a full face helmet, body armor, elbow and knee protectors are required...as well as riding talent that is acquired over decades. "If in doubt, stay out" applies to all Black Routes. No harassment of Experts by new riders and children will be thought well of either.

Double Black Diamond(Out of Category):
For those who are disturbed, have had traumatic childhoods and are in therapy, want to commit suicide by Mountain biking...well that's a bit of an exaggeration, but you get my point.

You will notice that the entrance signs have a numerical value too. these range from 1 - 5, 1 being the easiest and 5 being the hardest.

This means that Out of Category trails aside, Green (1) is the easiest trail and Black (5) is the most challenging.

Toyota MTN Cycle Park Access Payment Options

This part of the riding experience is just a matter of finding the payment option that suits your riding pattern. Credit Card facilities are available for your convenience.

Single Visit             R50.00

If you’ve never been to the Toyota MTN Cycle Park before then this would be your best first visit option to check the place out. This option is also suitable for the rider who used his Mountain bike once or twice a month.

4 Visit Card R150 (valid for 3 months)
10 Visit Card R300 (valid for 6 months)
20 Visit Card R550 (valid for 12 months)

These are for the riders who has been to Toyota MTN Cycle Park and has enjoyed his ride enough to guarantee the need for more purpose built Single Track!

Holders of Multi Visit Cards and Annual Plates can also buy Visitors Cards for R300 that allow you to bring family and friends with you for the same rates as normal Multi Visit Cards. You will need to accompany your visitor for them to gain access...that's how they are your visitor!

When you purchase a Multi Visit Card you get logged onto the computer at reception and your photograph and indemnity are recorded permanently. No more signing in!

Visits are deducted from your card with each visit.

Visitors Card:

This works exactly the same way as the Multi Visit Card and comes with 10 Visit denominations at the same rates as the standard cards. The difference is that these cards are only available for sale to those who already hold Multi Visit Cards or Annual Plates themselves, and are valid for 2 years. Purchase of these special Cards allows the primary card holder to bring guests with them to the Toyota MTN Cycle Park to share their riding pleasure. Great for family members who only come sometimes and for friends from out of town.

Each Guest will need to sign an indemnity form with each visit.

Annual Plate: Paid in Full R1995.00

For the truly dedicated rider this is the “no-brainer” option.

Kids BMX Club: R100 (unlimited access for the month- conditions apply)

Corporate Packages

In order to do our part, we introduce health and fitness into the workplace and packages are available for companies. Just contact us and we will put something together to suit your specific requirements.

School Sports and Extra Curricular Clubs

Toyota MTN Cycle Park makes a perfect venue for your child to participate in safe Cycling Programs with all their school friends. If you would like your child's school to participate in programs like this, please contact us and we will see if we can help you organise it through your child’s school.

The wait is over for mountain bikers in Gauteng who have been bristling with eagerness to ride at the new world-class Toyota Cycle Park in Bryanston when it opened on Saturday 22nd November.

Besides many kilometers of man-made trails catering for all skill and fitness levels, there’s also a world championship standard BMX track at the park, which is situated on the land adjacent to Main Road and the N1 freeway between Bryanston and Fourways. The entire park is enclosed by a razor-wire perimeter fence and will be patrolled by a private security company.

With a recent spate of bike-jackings and attacks on mountain bikers in Bryanston and Fourways having highlighted the lack of a safe riding environment, the new Toyota MTN Cycle Park offers a sanctuary for anyone that owns a mountain bike or a BMX bike.

So grab your bike and get down to the Toyota MTN Cycle Park. Enjoy the nature, security and the ride! Afterwards you can enjoy food or have a drink at the Seattle Coffee Company on site. We will also be uploading pictures of events in the gallery section and send out a newsletter of upcoming events. You can sign up on the right to receive our monthly newsletter or if there is any sudden changes to an event.
